As a Puyallup photographer who adores the charm of spring weddings, I was thrilled to photograph and plan this romantic styled shoot at Orting Manor—just as the gardens were beginning to bloom. There’s something truly magical about that first burst of color and warmth after a long winter, and this editorial was designed to capture exactly that.

With a vision centered around modern garden romance, the design featured lush greenery, hydrangeas in full bloom, and playful pops of pink throughout. The setting at Orting Manor in April couldn’t have been more perfect—fresh, green, and glowing with spring light. Every corner of the property offered something beautiful, from ivy-covered walls to flower-lined pathways.

Our bride’s look reflected the softness of the season: glowing makeup, a delicate mantilla veil, and a corset-style gown that brought together classic bridal elegance with a contemporary twist. For a few moments, she styled a sheer neck scarf that gave the look a dreamy, editorial edge. Paired with glowy, dewy skin and soft waves, her whole look felt like the season come to life.

One of my favorite moments? Watching our model couple play a quick game of croquet on the lawn—a fun, laid-back nod to yard games making their way into more weddings. These little details are such a sweet way for couples to make their wedding day feel personal and relaxed.

I was the yearbook kid. The one who always had a camera, always wanted to document the people around me. When my friends couldn't afford senior photos, I picked up a camera and decided that if nobody else was going to make sure they had beautiful photographs of themselves, I would.

That was the beginning, and I've never really stopped from there.

In 2018 I shot my first wedding and completely fell in love with the industry. All these years later, I'm still here -- still loving it, still showing up with fresh eyes.

Now I have my own studio inside the historic Tacoma City Hall building, a toddler who keeps me honest, and a deep appreciation for the fact that nothing stays the same for long. All of these things shape the way I take photographs.
