Hi, I'm Lauren - PNW mother, lover, and photographer

About Lauren

Photography that starts with people.

I was the yearbook kid. The one who always had a camera, always wanted to document the people around me. When my friends couldn't afford senior photos, I picked up a camera and decided that if nobody else was going to make sure they had beautiful photographs of themselves, I would.

That was the beginning, and I've never really stopped from there.

In 2018 I shot my first wedding and completely fell in love with the industry. All these years later, I'm still here -- still loving it, still showing up with fresh eyes.
xNow I have my own studio inside the historic Tacoma City Hall building, a toddler who keeps me honest, and a deep appreciation for the fact that nothing stays the same for long. All of these things shape the way I take photographs.

I believe photographs are a testimony to the life we've lived. I believe everyone deserves to be seen beautifully, regardless of who they love, what they look like, or where they come from.

I believe the best images aren't made by directing people into stiff poses -- they're found in the in-between moments, the ones nobody planned for. And I believe that the people in front of my camera deserve someone who cares deeply -- about the light, the composition, and the person in the frame.

Having an empathetic approach to not only photography, but to life itself is a huge part of why I do what I do.

My husband and I hired Lauren to do our engagement photos, then had such a great experience with her we asked her to photograph our wedding as well! We are so grateful that we hired Lauren. Not only did she take amazing photos, had so many fun and creative ideas, was professional and organized, but she made our day SO MUCH FUN! Both my husband and I have agreed she will be the one we ask to take all of our professional photos in the future. She helped us to look and feel our best in all of our photos. We recently had our engagement session and then later, elopement done with Lauren, and she was AMAZING! My fiancé was feeling nervous and awkward at first but Lauren guided us with patience and gave us fun prompts to get us feeling ourselves and having fun together like normal. She let us take little peeks all throughout our session to show us how it was coming, and we cannot wait to see how everything turns out. We are so happy we chose Lauren to capture our day!
