A new venue often brings fresh energy and inspiration. The Castle at Summit Lake is one such place. Nestled between the forest and the lake, its stone exterior stands out, inviting a sense of storybook charm. The setting is perfect for elopements and intimate weddings that captures old-world romance while embracing a modern twist.

For this shoot, we drew ideas from classic literature, like Pride & Prejudice. Yet, we wanted to keep the look current and minimal. The blend of these styles feels both timeless and fresh. The castle’s rich backdrops offered a mix of cozy and grand. Each corner of the venue tells a part of the story.

The June gloom brought a dreamy quality to the shoot. Soft, muted light wrapped everything in an ethereal glow. This mood created a magical atmosphere, ideal for documenting intimate moments. At such a small venue, with space for just 50 guests, the focus is on the couple and their celebration. It’s perfect for those who dream of a unique, luxurious micro wedding.

I was the yearbook kid. The one who always had a camera, always wanted to document the people around me. When my friends couldn't afford senior photos, I picked up a camera and decided that if nobody else was going to make sure they had beautiful photographs of themselves, I would.

That was the beginning, and I've never really stopped from there.

In 2018 I shot my first wedding and completely fell in love with the industry. All these years later, I'm still here -- still loving it, still showing up with fresh eyes.
xNow I have my own studio inside the historic Tacoma City Hall building, a toddler who keeps me honest, and a deep appreciation for the fact that nothing stays the same for long. All of these things shape the way I take photographs.
